So Speaking of Joy's Failure to Pay the Bills...

A quick note: I am going to try putting a few ads on the site and over at Gienna Rants, too. Nothing crazy. Just a few little boxes along the side where there's white space now, maybe a banner at the bottom of the page. So if you visit either site in the next day or so you might see me working on this little project. Want to learn more about Google's AdSense program? Read this article by the very talented writer Biz Stone. (Did you see how I snuck in the writing reference?) Feel free to let me know if you think this is a horrible way to support my writing habit. Just click on that little "comment(s)" link below.

Well, the ads are up on both blogs. I've put a few along the side and another batch at the bottom of the page. I tried them at the top of the page, where they might get more clicks, but I just didn't like the feel of it.

Even so, I'm really pleased with the way they look. You can customize them to fit the style of your site. I couldn't get the colors just right, but I made up for it by making the box border and background blend into the page.

I am also very pleased that the ads are all about writing on this site (they're mostly about blogs and blogging on Gienna Rants). In fact, the ads look so good I want to click on some of them. But you're not supposed to click on your own ads. Fucks up the click counts.

Maybe I'll type the urls of some of the sites into the address window of my browser and review them here in coming months.

And please, please, please let me know if you click on any of the ads and don't like what you see. These are supposed to be nice sites, ones that will benefit visitors to Gienna Writes. Just leave a comment on this post or any post expressing any concerns. Because I can block inappropriate ads or advertisers.

You remember how to leave a comment, right? You just click on the word "comment(s)" at the bottom of any post. Then follow the links. You don't have to have a Blogger account, either. I allow annonymous comments on this site.
